Longrow 13 Years Red Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon Cask Scotch Whiskey
- Reviews (0)
Longrow Red, always bottled at cask strength, is released annually in small quantities and every year a different type of red wine cask is used to mature the whisky.
Offering a different sensation from Longrow Peated, this whisky is smooth, elegant and subtly juicy.
The latest release is 13 years old, bottled at 51.6% and spent 10 years in
Bourbon and Sherry casks before spending the next 3 years in
Cabernet Sauvignon barrels which were sourced from MontGras’ Intriga Estate in Alto Maipo,
at the foot of the Andes in Chile.
Nose: Rhubarb and custard, stewed red fruits, blackberries and ginger. Strawberry & cream boiled sweets and notes of barley sugar.
Palate: Barley water, summer berries and red apples. Peat embers, goat’s cheese and black tea.
Finish: Becomes fairly dry with coastal notes and billowing peat. Rosemary and thyme focaccia, leather and tobacco leaves.
Proof: 103.2 (ABV 51.6)
